Central Europe In 1945 the Austria flag was adopted, it is said to be one of the oldest flags as the first use was recorded in 1191,from the Battle of Acre. It is said the tunic of Luitpold V was so bloody that only part of it was white. Which is what the white and the red on the flag symbolise.
